Our continuous glass annealing tunnel (also called an annealing lehr) is specially developed for container glass production. Freshly formed glass bottles carry huge internal thermal stress; without proper annealing, they are prone to cracking during storage, filling and transportation. This tunnel gradually heats, holds and cools glass containers along a standard annealing curve to release stress and improve mechanical stability. It is widely paired with the JEFFER I.S. bottle forming machine for beer, juice, wine, pharmaceutical and cosmetic glass bottles.

Hot glass bottles enter the annealing tunnel from the forming section. The tunnel is divided into a preheating zone, soaking zone, slow cooling zone and fast cooling zone. A controlled temperature curve keeps the glass passing through the strain point steadily. Internal stress is fully released in the soaking zone, and slow cooling then prevents the generation of new stress. After annealing, glass containers can pass stress inspection.

Applicable to all kinds of container glass, including 20 ml vials, beverage bottles, wine bottles, cosmetic jars and pharmaceutical glass containers. We supply standalone annealing tunnels or complete sets matched with a glass melting furnace and I.S. machine. We provide layout design, installation guidance, commissioning and after-sales support for overseas glass plants.
