Product Description

50TPD Electric Arc Furnace for Steelmaking – Optimized Energy Consumption & Stable Output

1.Overview
The 50TPD Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) is a compact, energy-efficient steelmaking solution designed for small-to-medium scale production. Using graphite electrodes to generate high-temperature arcs (up to 3,000°C), it melts scrap steel and iron-bearing materials with high thermal efficiency and low emissions, offering a flexible alternative to traditional blast furnace routes.

2. Application Fields

No. Application Scenarios
1 Carbon structural steel melting
2 Low-alloy high-strength steel production
3 Stainless steel and heat-resistant steel smelting
4 Mother liquid preparation for steel castings
5 Scrap metal recycling and short-process mini-mills

3. Key Advantages

No. Advantage Description
1 High thermal efficiency – Direct arc heating achieves thermal efficiency of 75%–85%, significantly outperforming traditional reverberatory or flame-heated furnaces.
2 Significant energy savings – Typical power consumption ranges from 400 to 600 kWh/t (depending on charge mix and process), with optional waste heat recovery integration.
3 High operational flexibility – Quick start-up and shut-down capabilities accommodate scrap supply fluctuations, ideal for intermittent production schedules.
4 Compact footprint – Dense equipment layout substantially reduces land and civil construction investment compared to BF–BOF routes.
5 Environmentally friendly – Equipped with high-efficiency dedusting systems, with dust and NOx emissions far below those of conventional steelmaking processes.
6 Controllable noise levels – Enclosed furnace shell and soundproofing measures ensure plant-boundary noise meets international environmental standards.
7 Low maintenance requirements – Modular design with water-cooled walls and roof panels enables quick replacement, reducing routine maintenance workload.

4. Main Furnace Structure

Component Function Description
Furnace shell (body) Holds the charge and molten steel; welded steel plate construction with refractory lining inside
Roof (cover) Supports graphite electrodes and seals the furnace; water-cooled or refractory-lined
Graphite electrode system Three-phase or single-phase electrodes delivering high current to generate arcs
Tilting mechanism Tilts the furnace forward/backward for tapping steel and slag removal
Bottom/side blowing system Injects oxygen or inert gases to promote bath stirring and decarburization reactions

5. Melting Process Characteristics

This 50TPD EAF incorporates Eccentric Bottom Tapping (EBT) technology, combined with foamy slag practice and wall-mounted oxygen lances, to achieve a highly efficient and stable melting cycle. Under the combined effects of arc stirring and bottom gas injection, the molten bath maintains uniform temperature distribution and adequate chemical reactions, facilitating dephosphorization, desulfurization, and homogenization, ensuring that the final liquid steel meets quality requirements for subsequent continuous casting or ingot casting processes.

The furnace features optimized water-cooling design, substantially extending refractory service life while minimizing thermal distortion of the shell. The entire system is equipped with PLC-based automatic control, providing real-time monitoring of arc power, electrode position, bath temperature, and off-gas composition, enabling intelligent melting management.
