1. Brief Description

In 1965, China started to research and develop its own float glass technology and successfully put into production and exported the float glass products and technology to the world.

The production technology of float glass is the largest scale mechanization and automation methods of production of flat glass production technology at the present time.

2. Characteristic

Because the glass liquid forms on the metallic tin liquid surface, it can achieve a high-grade double faced fire polished glass surface. The parallelism and flatness of float glass is much better than mechanical polishing effects, but it has a better mechanical capacity and chemical stability than mechanically polished glass.

• Qualified batching materials transfer to the furnace for melting.
• Melted glass liquid flows onto tin bath and form a glass plate through mechanical and chemical methods.
• When the temperature of glass plate reduced around 600°C, it will be conveyed into the annealing lehr which will relieve the internal stress.
• After inspection and cutting, the yield glass product is conveyed to the packaging area.

5. Main Equipment Description

5.1. Tin Bath

       It is a key component and one of the most important pieces of equipment of a float glass production line. 

5.2. Annealing Lehr

In glass technology, annealing means to put the glass into the annealing lehr for a certain time tor reduce the temperature with a slow speed, so as to not add additional permanent stress or temporary stress. Namely, annealing also means a process which will reduce or eliminate the thermal stress of glass.
